Sound, the opposite of silence, leads the very narrative of our lives. If we cannot share and interpret our experiences we are imprisoned. Our stories allow us to transfer our knowledge and thoughts, in a social context. Oral traditions provide a plotted narrative and weapon through use of metaphor, metonymy and irony Here with stitched lines I reflect the silenced voiceless, fragile minority whose story remains unspoken, unshared. Through deconstruction the silent, untold narrative is reconstructed and concealed in her lip print. She is obvious in her absence as is her story. The woman becomes encased in her silent story as do ironically her silencers.
